Glenn Beck Joins FoxNews
October 17, 2008
It was announced late yesterday that Glenn Beck will be moving his TV show from CNN Headline News over to FoxNews this coming spring. The Big Story on FoxNews is being cancelled, with Glenn Beck coming on at some point after the election is over. After seeing this, I may have to start watching FoxNews again; at least every once in awhile.
Glenn Beck is a conservative commentator and humorist. While he is not overtly Liberty-minded in philosophy, he warmly receives many in the Liberty movement. He has given significant airtime to both Ron Paul and Bob Barr on multiple occasions. This is true both of his TV show, and also his radio show.
I am not a regular listener/watcher of Glenn Beck, but in recent weeks have tuned him in and liked his views regarding the mess on Wall Street and the Government Bailout actions in response. His views are more in tune with a regular guy’s type of attitude than some others out there. His move to FoxNews gives a little more credibility to a network that claims to be “fair and balanced”. The “folks” at FoxNews have gotten a little far out on the neocon branch of the tree, that being the branch now exposed as false conservatism. At this point in time Glenn Beck does not seem to be beholden to any of the “establishment” in the Republican party. Hopefully, he can maintain some independent thinking after Roger Ailes starts signing his paychecks.
