Federal Way Police Chief Hits Car While Looking At Blackberry

The Federal Way police chief has issued a public apology for hitting a car while checking E-mail on a Blackberry.  A reminder to all of us to concentrate on driving!

In 28 years as a police officer, Chief Brian J. Wilson had never had an at-fault accident.  I suspect he will put the Blackberry down next time.

A new Washington state law provides fines of up to $124 for drivers reading a mobile device while driving.  The fine increases to $175 when an accident occurs.

Even the best drivers, with professional training such as police officers, will sometimes get into an accident.  The more time spent on the road, the more likely an accident will eventually happen.  Be careful out there, and keep the shiny side up!
