FAA Wants To Keep Bird Strike Information Secret
March 30, 2009
The FAA wants to keep information about bird strikes secret from the public. The issue came up recently, when a commercial aircraft made an emergency landing in the Hudson River, due to birds getting sucked into the engines. This prompted some to ask how often this sort of thing happens. The FAA has responded by trying to hide the information from citizens.
This reminds me of a saying: The Cover-Up is Worse Than the Scandal.
The FAA is not doing itself, the Obama Administration, or the public any favors by engaging in secrecy on this. People are asking legitimate questions, they deserve answers.
