Bringing Back Witch Trials

A friend phoned me this week and jokingly suggested that it is time for America to bring back witch trials.
It reminds me of the old Monty Python movie where Sir Bedevere questions the mob, “How do you know she is a witch?”
A person in the crowd says, “Because she looks like one!”
The knight counsels, “There are ways of telling if she is witch.”
Someone from the crowd starts thinking “logically” that if she weighs the same as a duck, she must be made of wood, and therefore she’s a witch!
Thank goodness that our legal system works a bit more seriously. Our judicial system has checks and balances to sort out the serious versus the frivolous. Sometimes it takes more than 24 hours to know the difference. However, our government operates on the principle that everyone is equal under the law, with no one being above the law. Our system of government is not perfect, does not always move as fast as people want it to, but in the end it is the best system that mankind has currently devised.
The wheels of justice will move, sorting through the evidence, punishing the guilty, and ensuring the rights of the innocent are protected.
Thanks for reading, and for a laugh, here is a link to the Monty Python scene:
